To build a bridge for communication between the university and student new-media creators, strengthen the campus new media platform, and pool efforts for campus publicity, the university hosted a special forum on campus new media during the University Leaders' Open Day on the afternoon of September 28. Ma Yutang, Member of the Standing Committee of the University Party Committee and Vice President, attended the forum together with heads of the Party and Government Office, the Propaganda Department of the Party Committee, the United Front Work Department of the Party Committee, the Student Affairs Department of the Party Committee, the Youth League Committee, the Information Construction and Management Office, the Library, the Museum of Ethnology, the Archives and other units, as well as key student new media creators and campus self-media blogger representatives. He Zhan, Executive Deputy Director of the Propaganda Department of the Party Committee, presided over the forum.

At the forum, student representatives spoke enthusiastically based on their experience in operating new media accounts on Xiaohongshu, Douyin, Bilibili, and other platforms. They offered suggestions on the development of the university's official new media accounts and put forward requests concerning material access, professional training, content promotion, and other matters. Heads of the relevant functional departments responded one by one, stating that they would carefully incorporate reasonable suggestions and continuously optimize support services for new media.

In his concluding remarks, Ma Yutang set out his expectations around three key words: "responsibility, collaboration, and warmth". He stressed that student accounts are deeply tied to the university's image. The larger the follower base and the wider the reach, the heavier their responsibilities. It is vital to uphold three bottom lines — political orientation, laws and regulations, and public morality — and deliver authentic, positive, and high-quality content. The university is accelerating the construction of its integrated media center and will implement mechanisms for joint topic discussion, material sharing, and channel linkage to deepen cooperation between official platforms and student accounts, shifting from "isolated individual efforts" to a "coordinated media matrix". The university will also empower student creation through professional training, field trips, and evaluation and recognition. The goal is to "enable students to focus on creation while the university provides solid support". He expressed the hope that students would balance grand narratives with everyday campus stories and produce more moving new media works.
